DYB teams fail to advance

For the first time in several years, Walthall County won’t be sending a team to compete in the State DYB tournaments.
The county’s four Diamond youth All-Star teams all failed to advance after losing in the district tournaments last weekend.
In the 6U tournament played at Summit, Walthall lost to Lawrence 14-13; were defeated by Lincoln 22-2 and Pike 17-2.
At the 8U tournament at Summit, the team was shut out by Lincoln 21-0 and lost to Franklin County 12-2.
The 10U and 12 U tournaments were played at Brookhaven.
The 10U All Stars lost 6-3 to Franklin County while the 12 team lost 8-2 to Pine Hills.
In the second game, 10U lost 12-1 to Pine Hills and the 12U team was defeated by Lincoln 7-6.
