Lucy Zirkelback, 80, of Ocean Springs, died June 14, 2025, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Zirkelback is preceded in death by her parents James and Camille Blackburn; daughters, Maria Martin and Samantha Brown; grandson Alex Cheatham and granddaughter Lucy Brown; great-grandchild Rowan Cannette; brother James C. Blackburn and her partner of 20 years, George Gooding.
Survivors include her sister-in-law Jan Blackburn; children, Michelle Cannette, Carolyn Nelson, Michael Welborn and Scott Cheatham; her grandchildren, Clay and Cade Cheatham, Thomas Cannette, Haley Hill, Melissa and Stephanie Smith, Julia and Jessica Nelson; her great-grandchildren, Jayden and Braxton Cheatham, Jordan Cannette, Romeo Hill, Johan Hill, A.J. and Alex Rouse, and Amelia Baker.
Mrs. Zirkelback worked in the hospitality industry for most of her life. She enjoyed serving her community in many ways, such as putting on luncheons for the veterans with the American Legion in Gautier and for her meals she cooked for the Gulf Hills community after Hurricane Katrina at the Gulf Hills Country Club. She always remembered her customers’ names and made sure no one left without a smile on their face.
Funeral services were June 18, 2025, at Southern Mississippi Funeral Services Chapel, Ocean Springs.
