Early a.m. shooting leaves one dead, one charged with murder

One man is dead and another is charged with his murder following an early morning shooting Wednesday, July 30.
Walthall deputies, investigators and Tylertown police arrived at 2:24 a.m. at St. Paul Road in response to a 911 call. They found the body of Dustin C. Carr, 31, lying on the ground, deceased of apparent gunshot wounds. Carr was removed from the crime scene by AAA Ambulance personnel.
The suspect, Dequarius S. Raiford, 27, was also present at the scene and taken into custody by officers for questioning. Raiford has since been charged with murder and is being held at the Walthall County Jail.
