Hit and run leads to charges

Police have charged a Tylertown man with leaving the scene of an injury-causing accident after a Sept. 10 incident on Georgia Avenue sent a 7-year-old to University Medical Center’s Batson Childrens Hospital.
Jamarcus Garrett, 18, was charged after the 6:32 p.m. accident.
The victim was listed with critical injuries at Jackson.
Police Chief Jordan Hill reminds motorists to drive carefully, especially on town streets.
“I hope that youthful and young adult drivers—all motorists—will use caution when driving at all times, especially in residential areas,” Hill said.
