Local attorney and judge, Ryan Bruhl, has announced his candidacy for Circuit Court Judge for the 15th Circuit District, Place 2. The 15th Circuit District encompasses Lamar, Marion, Pearl River, and Walthall Counties. A lifelong resident of Tylertown, Bruhl brings an extensive and diverse legal background with experience in both civil and criminal proceedings.
“Growing up on a farm in Walthall County, I learned the value of integrity, honesty, and hard work,” Bruhl said. “That upbringing led me to pursue a legal education, return home to Tylertown, and dedicate my career to upholding the rule of law.”
Bruhl’s legal experience is broad and well-rounded. He currently works as a partner at Foxworth, Shepard, and Bruhl, P.A. in Columbia, while also holding positions as Municipal Judge for the Town of Tylertown and elected Justice Court Judge for Walthall County.
In addition to his courtroom experience, Bruhl has demonstrated leadership within Mississippi’s judicial system. He was appointed by the Mississippi Supreme Court to serve on the Commission on Judicial Performance, where he helped ensure that judges across the state uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
“As a Justice Court and Municipal Judge with 12 years of experience on the bench, I bring extensive knowledge of both criminal and civil proceedings,” Bruhl said. “That experience led the State Supreme Court to appoint me to serve on the Commission on Judicial Performance, where I helped ensure our jurists uphold the integrity of our judicial system.”
Bruhl also serves Walthall County as Youth Court Referee, Family Master, and Special Master for Commitments. Additionally, he has been elected by the Justice Court Judges Association to serve as its delegate to the Mississippi Judicial College’s Board of Governors.
Bruhl is committed to applying his extensive experience to fairly and consistently interpret the law while upholding the rule of law for all citizens within the district.
