Tracy James O’Quin

Tracy James O’Quin
April 9, 1973 – Feb. 8, 2026
Tracy James O’Quin, 52, died Feb. 8, 2026, in Great Falls, MT. Born April 9, 1973, in McComb, he was a lifelong resident of Tylertown.
Tracy was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America and a 1991 graduate of Tylertown High School. In 1996, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on Criminal Justice from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Tracy was mechanically inclined. He learned this from the best mechanic around, his dad. From a young age, he spent every waking moment that he could in the shop. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He served his community proudly as a law enforcement officer and detective for over 19 years. In 2013, he began a career in industrial construction as a material coordinator. He was the best of the best. If you needed it, he could find it. He knew how to get it to you and get it to you right. He was loved and admired by everybody who worked with him and was around him. He was a light when he walked into the room. He told the truth, and he was respected for it.
Tracy’s life was shared with the family he loved, his wife, Angele Guillory O’Quin; children, Tanner James O’Quin and Jana Leigh O’Quin; stepchildren, Abbey Tullos McKenzie, Lane Tullos, and Katie Tullos; parents, James M. and Patricia D. O’Quin; sister, Stacy O’Quin Kidd and her family. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Baby James Edward O’Quin. His presence brought joy to many, and he will be deeply missed.
Known for his strong work ethic and kindness, Tracy built strong bonds with friends and coworkers. He was friendly, warm and generous. He was smart, trustworthy, steady, dependable, and his presence made others feel secure and respected. His dry sense of humor and wit made the bad days better. He was a good friend and neighbor and loved by many. The family thanks the community who have shown countless kindnesses in this time of sudden loss.
A celebration of Tracy’s life will be held at Tylertown Baptist Church in the sanctuary Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tracy’s memory to Slidell Animal Assistance League. https://tinyurl.com/donateAALSlidell
