Jambalaya fundraiser for Wesley Martin will be May 2
A Jambalaya plate fundraiser for Wesley “Bigun” Martin will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026.
On February 8, 2026, Wesley was involved in a traumatic motorcycle accident in Caddo, Texas, and was airlifted to Harris Memorial Trauma Center in Fort Worth, TX, where he remained for several weeks. His injuries were extensive: broken vertebrae in his neck and back; a fractured collarbone and scapula; multiple broken ribs; a collapsed lung; arterial neck tears; a brain bleed; a kidney laceration; and a severe contusion to his left foot. He has undergone multiple surgeries and will require extensive rehabilitation therapy.
Wesley is a native of Walthall County, where he was born and raised, and a graduate of Tylertown High School. He was a lifelong resident of Walthall County until moving to Texas a few years ago to be closer to his employment.
Due to recent changes in his employment, Wesley is currently without medical coverage. He is unable to walk without assistance and requires help with daily activities. His medical expenses, along with housing and other essential costs, have created a significant financial burden. His wife, Trina, is unable to work, as she is his sole full-time caregiver.
Gary and Nickole Byrd and Robbie and Robin Patten are hosting this fundraiser to help cover medical expenses, travel costs, and everyday needs so Wesley and Trina can focus on healing and recovery.
The benefit will be held May 2, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Holmes Water Park. Plate lunches will be available for pickup under the pavilion.
The meal will include jambalaya, green beans, house salad, bread, and cake. Tickets are $12 per plate.
Tickets can be purchased at Rushing Shoe Shop, Splash of Sass Salon (Misty’s), or from Robbie and Robin Patten.
Call 601-730-0686 or 601-341-8678 for tickets or to make donations.
All proceeds go to support Wesley and Trina.
Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated.
