Patsy Shoemaker Brumfield, 80, of Tylertown, died at her residence on June 23, 2026. She was born on March 25, 1946, in Walthall County, to the late George Shoemaker and Grace Popwell Shoemaker. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Brumfield; brothers, George E. Shoemaker and Joe M. Shoemaker; sister, Fanny Brown; and sisters-in-law, Linda Shoemaker and Nell Shoemaker.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Stacie Alford (James), Sandi Smith (Kevin), and Carey Brumfield (Jessica); grandchildren, Bentley Brumfield, Emilie Bowman, C.J. Bowman (Melinda), Brittney Bowman, Anna Alford, Lundyn Causey (Jacob), Kendall Smith, and Estella Smith; grandchildren of the heart, Tyler Barton, Jayden Shumaker, and Cole Shumaker; special granddog, Harmony; and special caregiver, Brandi Roddy.
Patsy was a proud graduate of Dexter High School, where she enjoyed playing basketball. She also had a passion for softball and spent many years coaching girls in Walthall County. Patsy was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted member of Jesus Name Apostolic Church, where she faithfully served the Lord and cherished her church family. For more than 30 years, she dedicated herself to her community as a school bus driver. Patsy had a special gift for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for her beloved family.
Visitation was at Jesus Name Apostolic Church, Foxworth, on June 25, 2026, and June 26, 2026. Burial followed in the Boyd Cemetery. Pastor C. A. Gatlin officiated. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
