Linzie Elmore Ryals, 95, of Tylertown, died July 5, 2024, at Billdora Senior Care. He was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Walthall County.
Funeral services were set for July 9, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home. Visitation was also set to be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 10 AM until funeral service at 11 AM at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, burial in the Rushing Cemetery, Rev. Clay Spinks and Bro. Matt Robinson officiating.
Ryals was known by many names such as the Fruit Man, Peanut Man, and Pepsi Man. He received all these names by using his special skills as a salesman for many years. He also owned and operated Ryals Tube and Canoe Rental for 30 years. He enjoyed gardening, whittling, and listening to bluegrass gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ryals Horner; son, Randall Ryals; daughter, Diane Eynon; father, Robert Franklin Ryals; mother, Nancy Pauline Fowler Ryals; sister, Mary Ryals Crawford; daughter-in-law, Wendy Ryals; and son-in-law, Larry Eynon.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years Norma Jean Summers Ryals; sons, Darrell Ryals, Allen Ryals (Michele), William VanNorman, and Raymond VanNorman (Michelle); daughters, Deborah Ryals VanNorman, Marsha Hodges (Johnny), Maria Prine, and Beth Cowart (Jim); sisters, Dora Ryals Brumfield and Lavelle Tenie Ryals Wallace; special granddaughter Christy Morgan.
Pallbearers were Allen Ryals, Bryan Ryals, Raymond VanNorman, Paul Smith, Steve Brumfield, Billy VanNorman, William VanNorman, and Allen “Tater” VanNorman.
Honorary pallbearers were William VanNorman and Darrell Ryals.
