Charles Walter Hay, 90, of Osyka, died Feb. 2, 2025, at the State Veterans Home in Collins. He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Robertsdale, AL, to the late Lonnie Walter and Myrtle Lee Hay. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Colleen Hay and siblings.
Funeral services were Feb. 7, 2025, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, graveside at Burch Cemetery in Osyka, with Father Tommy Conway officiating.
Hay served three years in the Army serving in France and upon coming back joined the Air Force until he retired. Moving to Tylertown he became a farmer and drove the school bus. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, and was an avid MSU baseball fan holding season tickets. He was an avid photographer and would record of all the things his grandchildren would do. He enjoyed watching them play ball, show cattle, or whatever else they would get into.
Survivors include his son, Charles Richard Hay (Ruth); daughters, Charlene H Burkes (Dave) and Donna Hay; grandchildren, Matthew Hay (Jamie), Justin Hay (Ali), Elizabeth Herrin, Christopher Burkes and Andrew Burkes (Jocelyn); great grandchildren, Kayley Herrin, Anniston Herrin, Dillon Herrin, Caldwell Hay, Scottie Hay, Reese Hay, Elijah Burkes, Peyton Burkes, Olivia Burkes and Paisleigh Burkes.
