Nola George Andrews, 74, of Tylertown, died Jan. 29, 2025, at her residence. Mrs. Andrews was born Nov. 1, 1950, in Camden to the late Grover Cleveland George and Francis Williamson-George. After graduating from Velma Jackson High School in 1969, she attended Jackson State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her master’s degree in elementary education in 1974. She then met and married McArthur Andrews on June 2, 1974, in Chicago, IL. They then moved to Tylertown.
She was a member of Brandon Bay United Methodist Church where she served as a choir member. She was math and science teacher at Dexter Attendance Center for 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Felicia Renee Andrews; brothers, Marion Cleveland (M.C.) “Bo”, Sullivan, Columbus, Wyatt Adams, Kenneth “Billy” and Johnny Lee; sisters: Lannie Mae George Dawson, Lucille George-Jackson, Fannie George-Finch.
Survivors are her husband of 50 years, McArthur Andrews; three children, Antoinette Johnson, MacArthur Andrews Jr., George Andrews; siblings, Ollie Thomas (Rhonda) of Fort Dodge IA, Doretha Barner of Camden, Lavern (Alfred) Davis of Mansfield, TX, and Beverly Johnson of Canton.
Funeral services were Feb. 9, 2025, at Brandon Bay United Methodist Church, Pastor Andre Tillman officiating, with interment tin the church cemetery.
