Joel Maxwell Sistrunk, 63 of Jayess, died Feb. 20, 2026, at his residence in Jayess. He was born Jan. 8, 1963, in Tylertown. He was preceded in death by his son, Wes Dillon; father, James Sistrunk; brother, Michael Sistrunk; grandfathers, Fate Sistrunk and Clyde Harvey; grandmothers, Pearl Sistrunk and Lillie Harvey.
Visitation was at Sartinville United Methodist, Jayess, Feb. 23, 2026, burial followed at Sartinville Cemetery. Bro. Gary Robinson and Bro. Keith Smith officiated. Hartman-Hughes Capps Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Joel enjoyed riding the backroads and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Chasity Pittman (Tyler); mother, Betty Jo Harvey Sistrunk; brother, Craig Sistrunk; sister, Kathy Vakali (Moe); grandchildren, Jackson Pittman and Kellynn Pittman; and dear friend Kelly Reid.
Pallbearers were Lynn Harvey, Ken Ainsworth, Jimbo Speaks, Chris Price, Randy Allen, and Ricky Beard.
