Mae Frances Beard McKenzie, 85, of Tylertown, died on June 24, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Tylertown on April 13, 1941, to the late Carsie Beard and Luvencie Stinson Beard. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Judge Marion McKenzie; granddaughter, Amanda Mathis; great-grandson, Caleb Mathis; and son-in-law, Tim Dickerson.
Survivors include her son, Gary Marion McKenzie (Sylvia); daughters, Becky Dickerson, Cindy Smith (Chad), and Christy Yarborough (Chad); grandchildren, Jason McKenzie, Ashley Green (Travis), Stephanie Harper, Johnny McKenzie (Becca), Craig Dickerson (Alex), Corey Dickerson (Beth Anne), Heather Coker (Tyler), Brayden Smith, Caleb Yarborough (Elleana), Caylee Grace Davis (Zane), and Caden Yarborough; along with a host of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McKenzie was a devoted clerk at Brumfield’s Drug Store for 25-plus years. In the 1980’s she was awarded the title of Walthall County’s Most Friendly Clerk. Frances was devout in her Christian faith, studying her Bible daily, and was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, watching her grandchildren play sports, and spending time with her family. Frances will be remembered for her kindness and the endless love she gave to all.
Visitation was at Union Baptist Church, Tylertown, June 27, 2026. Burial followed in the Union Church Cemetery. Rev. Millard Moak and Rev. Chad Yarborough officiated. Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Johnny McKenzie, Craig Dickerson, Corey Dickerson, Caleb Yarborough, Caden Yarborough, Zane Davis, and Tyler Coker.
