A graveside service for Thomas Edward Pezant I, 83, of Tylertown, was June 3, 2020, at Boyd Cemetery – Salem with Rev. Keith Smith officiating.
He died at his residence May 29, 2020. He was born Dec. 6, 1936, in Walthall County to the late Jessie and Henry Pezant. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Dorothy Pezant, and sister Diane Miller.
Pezant was a member of Calvary Temple Pentecostal Church. He was a veteran who served his country in the army. He spent his years working offshore for 25 years with Shell corporation; after retiring from there he was a truck driver for a lumber company. Pezant loved to work and enjoyed spending time with his family and his favorite dog Snooch. He was one who loved nicknames and made one up for all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his two daughters, Angela Pezant Weeks and Pamela Pezant Harvey; son, Thomas (Dawn) Pezant; grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Ruple, Matthew Ryan Ruple Brittany (Christopher) Lockard, Whitney (Casey) Ginn, Trey (Katie) Pezant, and Ty Pezant; great-grandchildren Caden Scott Ruple, Maegan Jacobs Ruple, Haven Jolie Ruple, Asher Lynn Lockard, Austyn Claire Ginn, and Timber Blake Pezant; sister Jenny Brumfield; brother Joe Pezant; brother-in-law Calvin (Frankie) Lawson; aunt Fannie Alford McMichael.
Pallbearers were James Ruple, Matthew Ruple, Trey Pezant, Ty Pezant, Casey Ginn, and Chris Lockard.
Honorary pallbearers were Butch Brumfield, Joey Pezant, Steve Pezant, Chuck Kee, Danny Williams, Morris Hollinhead, Steve Kurkendolph, Kevin Miller, Thad Harvey, Jim Ruple, Bobby Lee, Lee Thornhill, Caden Pezant, and Timber Pezant.
