Mistake results in removal of flowers from town cemetery

The town’s mayor and board of aldermen have issued a statement regarding Tylertown Cemetery and a mistake by an employee which resulted in all the flowers being removed from the cemetery.
“A new employee was directed to move the flowers on recently dug graves so that work could be finalized at the gravesites. However, the employee misunderstood the direction of his supervisor and instead remove all flowers from all the graves and monuments at the cemetery,” Mayor Ed Hughes said in a statement issued shortly after the town learned of the incident.
“The town has always taken great pride in the cemetery and its upkeep and will continue to do so. We express our sorrow over the mistake and ask for your understanding,” Hughes concluded in the statement.
