A funeral service for Earnie Pierce, 57, of Tylertown, was Sept. 20, 2020, at Capps Funeral Home with Rev. Millard Moak and Rev. Brad Cooper officiating. Burial was in the Rushing Cemetery.
Pierce died at St. Tammy Hospital in Covington Sept. 17, 2020. He was born May 21, 1963, in Tylertown to the late Doris and J. C. Pierce. He was also preceded in death by his son Drew Pierce: uncle Olen Johnson; father-in-law Clyde Cooper; sisters Kathy Martin and Gail McMorris; and brother-in-law Jimmy McMorris.
Pierce was a truck driver and bulk plant manager at Pigott Oil Co. for 35 years. He was a former scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 138. He enjoyed farming, raising beef cattle, and hay baling. He always had a preference of Peterbilt trucks and John Deere tractors.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years Karen Pierce; granddaughter Addison Magee Pierce; brother Jimmy (Vondell) Pierce; sisters Vicki (Gerald) Wall and Lynn (Randall) Bankston; mother-in-law Gayle Cooper; brothers-in-law Darryl (Kim) Cooper, Darron (Jane) Cooper, and Clint (Carmen) Cooper.
Pallbearers were Brett Johnson, Roger Ginn, Keith Holmes, Al Bowman, Jeremy Holmes, and Tommy Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve Pigott, Larry Montgomery, Phil Graves, and the truck drivers and employees of Pigott Oil/Western Resources.
