Lois Riley, 94, of New Orleans, native of Tylertown, died Sept. 17, 2020, after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late James and Gussie Riley March 10, 1926, in Tylertown.
Services for Ms. Riley were Sept. 17, 2020, at Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Tylertown, interment in Brandon Bay Church Cemetery.
She was baptized at Brandon Bay UMC as a child. She was educated in the Walthall County School System and later attended Jackson State College in 1947-1948. After relocating to New Orleans, she joined St. James Methodist Church under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Tilly. She was employed with Ochsner Medical Center where she was a hospital aide in the emergency room for over 40 years until she retired. She also provided loving care for several family members.
Lois is survived by three children: Rita (Leo) Jackson, New Orleans, Karim (Portia) Saleem, Jackson, and Michael (Cheetah) Riley, New Orleans; 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren.
Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
