Adopt-a-Family applications available to be picked up
Walthall’s Adopt-a-Family Christmas program has opened its application period.
Applications are available at the Walthall Circuit Clerk’s office. Circuit clerk Vernon Alford said his office acts as a central location to pick up applications, but otherwise has no connection with the local Christmas charity.
To be eligible for Adopt-a-Family you must be a resident of Walthall County, income must be reported and be within the U.S. Federal poverty guidelines, according to Lori Swanner, a spokesman for Walthall Adopt-a-Family.
The program is geared to help children up to and including 12th grade.
“You can pick up the applications at the circuit clerk’s office at the court house, fill them out and follow the return instructions,” Swanner said.
Those who are deemed eligible and accepted for the program will be notified, she said.
