Eddie G. Conerly, 84, of Kokomo, died at his residence after a brief illness April 6, 2021. He was born July 10, 1936, in Kokomo, son of the late Cleve Conerly and Viola Leonard.
Funeral services were April 17, 2021, at Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel with interment in New Damascus MBC Cemetery, Kokomo, Rev. Timothy Magee officiating.
At an early age, Eddie Gene accepted Christ as his personal savior and joined New Damascus Baptist Church in Kokomo. He was an active member and served on the trustee board.
Eddie Gene was employed with Boh-Bros Construction in Louisiana for 30 years. He later moved back home to Mississippi and was employed with Marion County Beat 4 for 25 years.
On March 25, 1958, he married Lenola Hammond and to this union eight children were born.
He was preceded in death by a spouse, one child and one brother.
Survivors are three daughters, Patricia Conerly, Regina (Reginald) Singleton and Lettia (Lorenzo) Sanders of Kokomo; four sons, Eddie “Bubba” Gene Jr. (Leticia), Linus, Vincent (Patricia) and Ivan (Chanel) of Kokomo; 15 beautiful grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Craft-Ginn Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.
