Betty Robertson, 78, of Tylertown, died July 12, 2021, at Southwest Medical Center in McComb.
Born Oct. 25, 1942, in Tylertown, she was the daughter of the late Hamp Bickham and Alma Youngblood Bickham.
She joined Lee’s Chapel M.B. Church at an early age. She enjoyed teaching at Mt. Moriah Community Center. She was a member of the Spiritual Travelers for many years. She enjoyed singing.
She was married to X.A. Robertson Sr., and they had nine children.
Survivors are her children Lavern (Deborah) Bickham of Franklinton, Juette Martin of Tylertown, Linda (Reginald) Dillon of Franklinton, Essie (Melvin) Barnes, Steven Robertson, Noema (Jewlaska) Walker, XA (Tyra) Robertson Jr., Clay (Deshonda) Robertson, all of Tylertown; sister, Willie Dell Wearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, X.A. Robertson Sr.; her daughter, Glinda Lenoir; her sisters, Pledge Bickham, Nelsie Dean Haynes, Bessie Bickham, Lottie Dean Bickham, Essie Bickham; her brothers, Bobby Earl Bickham and Leevon Bickham; her granddaughter,, Gabrielle La”Shay Robertson; her grandson, Steven Robertson Jr; and a son-in-law, John Wayne Martin.
A funeral service was July 17, 2021, at Lee’s Chapel MBC with Rev. Raymond Gutter rendering the eulogy and officiating, interment in the Lee’s Chapel MBC Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jaqus Pittman, L’Terrio Robertson, Traedey Robertson, Sherman Robertson, Jonathan Lenoir and John Martin.
Honorary pallbearers were Lavern Bickham, X.A. Robertson Jr., Jewlaska Walker, Steven Robertson, Eld. Clay Robertson, Reginald Dillon and Melvin Barnes.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
