A private memorial service is planned for a former Tylertown municipal court judge and local attorney, Breed O. “Dubs” Mounger Jr., 84.
He died Oct. 22, 2021, at his residence.
The son of the late Breed O. Mounger, Sr. and Rita Walker Mounger of Tylertown, he was a graduate of Tylertown High School, the University of Mississippi, and the University of Mississippi School of Law. He practiced law in Tylertown for more than 50 years, serving as a city judge in the later part of his career.

A man of many talents and interests, he was an excellent musician, who filled his life with music and shared his skills and love of music with many family members. He was an aviator and yachtsman who loved life on the water and in the air.
He is survived by his wife, Dana Fortenberry Mounger of Tylertown; four children, Mary Rita May of Tylertown, Sarah Lea Anglin of Madison, Vicki Ginn of Tylertown, and Breed O. “Beau” Mounger III of Dallas, TX; one step son, Daniel Warren of Tylertown. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lee Lee Mounger, and grandson, Rory May, and is survived by nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Special Olympics Mississippi (Hub City Region), Standing in the Gap (donations through Tylertown Trustmark Bank), or the Mississippi Animal Project.
