Lela “Lee” Mae Ellzey, 70, of Tylertown, died Feb. 3, 2022, in Mobile, AL. She was born March 22, 1951, in Tylertown.
Funeral services were Feb. 6, 2022, at Magee`s Creek Baptist Church in Jayess, burial in Magee`s Creek Cemetery, Rev. Glen Nace officiating.
For 40 years Mrs. Ellzey was a registered nurse and allied health teacher for Walthall County. Every year she proudly raised money for St. Jude Research Hospital. She was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mrs. Ellzey was a member of Magee’s Creek Baptist Church. During her quiet time, she loved to read and study the Bible. Best known to her grandchildren as “Mama Lee”, she always looked forward to the holidays; where she got to spend extra time playing and enjoying making memories with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Ellzey was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Van Holmes.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years Greg Ellzey; son Lance Ellzey (Briana); daughter Vanessa Boyd (Justin); mother Billie Jean Holmes; brother Rodney Holmes; sisters Linda Brumfield (Stanley) and Jean Bauchum (Durwood); grandsons Austin Gregory Guy and Canyon Gregory Ellzey; granddaughters Char-lee Jane Boyd, Isabella Jolee Boyd, and Gracyn Marie Ellzey.
Pallbearers were Cody Ward, Austin Gregory Guy, Derek Holmes, Rick Amonett, Robert Ratliff, and Chris Dainty.
Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Wells, Van Wells, Joell Amonett, Bobby Amonett, and Eric Holmes.
