Ree Dykes, 96, of Tylertown, died May 3, 2022, at the Southwest Medical Center in McComb. She was born April 15, 1926, in Darbun.
A graveside service was at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Tylertown May 5, 2022, with Rev. Justin Knight officiating.
Mrs. Dykes was a longtime member of Tylertown Baptist Church. She was a cook who enjoyed making egg custard pies and baking treats for her community. She enjoyed traveling, reading books, having coffee with her bunch at May’s Restaurant, and babysitting her grandpups Wesley and Langley.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Jake Holmes and Harmon Dykes; son Michael Holmes; daughter Janet Crawford; father Byron Thompson; mother Effie Ester Forbes Thompson.
Survivors include her daughter Sandra Holmes Sartin (James); grandchildren Pamela Sartin (Katherine) and Trudi Evans (Mike); great grandchildren Luke Evans and Michael Evans; son-in-law Jamie Crawford; and special friend Lee Ellen McDonald (John).
Pallbearers were John McDonald, Michael Evans, Luke Evans, Mike Evans, Jamie Crawford, Tommy Priest, and Tommy Priest.
