Pauline Jefferson, 91, of Harvey, LA, died May 12, 2022, at her residence.
Born March 20, 1931, in Darbun, she was the daughter of the late Homer Cowart, and the late Sarah Cowart.
She was married to Clifton Jefferson in 1946 and they had nine children together. She was baptized at a young age at Rowley Church of God in Christ.
After raising her family in New Orleans and the passing of her husband, Mrs. Jefferson returned to Mississippi to care for her father.
After Hurricane Katrina she relocated Atlanta, GA, and later to New Orleans to be with her children after her health declined.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Jefferson; siblings, Jewel Cowart Sr., Harold Cowart, EJ Cowart, Homer Edward Cowart Sr., Gladys McGowan, Irma Foxworth, and Rosie Alexander; one daughter, Willene Husband; one son, Ray Charles Jefferson; one grandchild, Angeline Robinson; two great grandchildren, Alexander M. George and Micah Thomas.
Survivors are one son, Billy Wayne Jefferson; six daughter, Jerlean (James) Brown, Donell Cartier, Lexie (Gregory) Guevara, Ida Williams, Sandra (Devon) Richardson, and Irma Daniels; 22 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren.
A funeral service wias May 21, 2022, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Kokomo, with Eld. Jerry Walker officiating, interment in the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
