Christmas Open House this Thursday; bazaar, park rides Friday, Saturday


As the holiday season draws closer, Tylertown businesses join with the Walthall Chamber of Commerce in sponsoring special events and activities geared toward families and children.
The town’s Christmas Open House this Thursday, is a day set aside for you to browse local stores to see the selection of Christmas gifting ideas businesses have chosen for this holiday season.
Business owners and their buyers gave careful thought to what would interest their customers when they went to markets earlier this year.
During Christmas Open House customers can take advantage of early holiday specials, browse while making their Christmas shopping list and enjoy refreshments.
Open House is followed this Friday and Saturday by the Christmas Bazaar and Holiday Craft Show at Southwest Events Center from 3-9 p.m. both days, and by the advance showing of the area’s premier attraction, Christmas in the Park, featuring wagon rides from 5:30-8:30 p.m. both nights. The lighted display is consistently named as one of the best of its kind by the state’s newspapers, magazines and media outlets.
The Christmas Bazaar and Crafts Show at the Events Center, Nov. 18-19 feature plenty of vendors.
Organizer Pam keaton says all the vendor spots are taken and notes that customers at the bazaar will have plenty to choose from includingblankets, baked goods, cakes, candy, crafts, jelly, jam, bread, sterling silver jewelry, cookies, honey, cane syrup, table arrangements, wreaths, indoor and outdoor metal artwork, woodworking, earrings, bows, accessories, goat milk soaps, caramel, jewelry, crochet, paintings, embroidery, resin key chains, Mississippi candles, fudge, hand-painted wooden crafts, pottery, laser-engraved gifts, cutting boards and other woodworking, stone jewelry, crystal carvings, inverted umbrellas, hand-made wreaths, table arrangements, floral arrangements, quilts, and many various goodies, stocking stuffers, and gift items.
The Salem Stars Booster Club are serving jambalaya, nachos, Frito pies, sodas, and hot chocolate.
Both nights of the bazaar, special wagon rides through Christmas in the Park will be available for $5 for aduts, children 12 and under, free.
The rides begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m. both nights.
