‘A Fairy Tale Christmas’ parade is 5:30, Tuesday, Dec. 5

“A Fairy Tale Christmas,” Tylertown’s 2023 Christmas parade, steps off promptly at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, following its usual route through downtown Tylertown.
Join in the parade by entering a unit in the parade, floats, decorated cars and trucks, side-by-sides, bikes, or enter a marching unit or drill team.
There is no charge to enter. Floats and decorated cars and trucks start lining up at Tylertown Elementary School on Broad Street right after buses leave the school, around 3 p.m. Entries must be in place at 4 p.m. to be judged.
Prizes are awarded in each division with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. An additional “‘Judges’ Choice” winner is named in the float division.
While registration isn’t mandatory, it is helpful to those lining up entries. To register, or if you have questions, contact Alisa Leggett at 601-303-7044.
The parade follows its usual route, beginning at Tylertown Baptist Church, heading south on Tyler and Ball venues, turning west on Magnolia Avenue, south on North Collins, then heads east on Beulah Avenue through downtown before disbanding at the Stogner Center.
The parade generally takes up the better part of an hour. Organizers remind entrants that there is only one Santa Claus in the parade riding the Chamber sleigh at parade’s end.
Once the parade ends, it’s an ideal opportunity to attend Tylertown’s well-known holiday attraction, Christmas in the Park, at Holmes Water Park.
