Dr. MLK parade, Jan. 15


The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade and observance is planned Monday, Jan 15.
Eld. Clayton Bullock says the parade begins at 1p.m., will line up in the area of Washington Funeral Home and Heavenly Delight. The parade heads north on Franklinton Street, turns east on Beulah Avenue, then proceeds to Southwest Events Center with an observance honoring the memory of Dr. King, followed by presentation of the church’s annual civic awards, honoring recipients of the Humanitarian, Leadership and Business of the Year awards
“We encourage participation by anyone or any group, horse riders, youth, church and school groups, bands, athletic teams and others,” a spokesman said.
There is no charge to enter the parade, but participants will need to register. Register in advance at the Tylertown First Baptist Church Facebook page.
