Jennye Ruth Carr died Jan. 18, 2024. She was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Tylertown to the late Matthew Foxworth Sr. and Jennye Lee Harrell Foxworth.
Funeral services were Jan. 27, 2024, at East Sunny Hill MBC in Tylertown, Bishop Willie Deans officiating with interment in East Sunny Hill Cemetery.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She attended J.J. Gulledge where she graduated in the class of 1965. She married Alcus Carr Jr. and had two children. She was a meter maid for the city of Pontiac, MI, and later relocated back to Tylertown where she was a homemaker. Later in life she returned to the workforce and was a master scale operator at Sanderson Farms in Summit.
She loved to cook, can, eat and travel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Alcus Carr Jr., sisters Gail McKelphin and Bonnie Bates, brother Marcus Foxworth, son-in-law Sgt. Shanta Bridges, and sisters-in-law Eva Nell Foxworth and Angierene Foxworth.
Survivors are two daughters, Felicia Carr Thomas (Ernest) of Brookhaven, and Tonya Carr Bridges of Tylertown; 10 grandchildren, Mario Gause, Jennicia Carr, Alexus Smith (Chrisvonta), Victoria Brown, Ernest Thomas Jr., Lorenzo Bee, Shantez Bridges, Malik Bridges, and Cole Bridges; four great grandchildren, Noah Smith, Donovan Moore, Jai’Lee King, and Carter King; one sister, Percy Nell Foxworth; three brothers, Matthew Foxworth II, Harry(Mae) Foxworth, and Marvin Foxworth.
