Deyona Shari James, 35, of Tylertown, died Feb. 26, 2024, in Tylertown. She was born April 24, 1988, in Jackson to Thomas and Donis Johnson.
She received her bachelor’s degree from the Univerity of Southern Mississippi and her master’s from the University of Alabama. She worked as a social worker for the state of Mississippi and then later became an inclusion educator for Walthall County Schools.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tom and Claudine White; and one uncle, Timothy Johnson.
Survivors are her husband, Ken James; two daughters, Ra’Niya Quinn and Kenley James; two sons, Kendarius and Marquez James; two God-children, Kason Bearden and Ky’Leigh Parker; her parents, Thomas and Donis Johnson; her maternal grandparents, Willie James and Fredia Montgomery; mother-in-law, Darcus Walker; one sister, DeAnna (Marquis) Haynes; three brothers, Prince (Leasha) Johnson, Charles “TJ” (Chelsea) Johnson, Aaron “AJ” (Meaghan) Johnson; friend/sister Trystle Bridges.
Funeral services were March 3, 2024, at Holy Temple Ministries Tylertown, Eld. Glen Allen officiating with interment in Dillon Hill Church Cemetery.
