Arlie “Pete” Graves Jr., 86, died March 26, 2024. He was born in Tylertown April 2, 1937. In 1960 he entered the US Army and received an honorable discharge in 1966. While serving, his duty was heavy equipment operator and he received medals for marksman and sharp shooter.
Graves married Betty Reynolds and had two daughters, Debbie and Donna. For the past 40 years, he was married to Mary Louise Miller. He had a 30-year career with South Central Bell. After retirement, he worked for many years delivering specialty vehicles across the country for Sewell Cadillac and Bryan Chevrolet. He and Marie (Mary) loved to travel and took many cruise vacations together.
Survivors are his two daughters Debbie Pitfield (David) of Mandeville and Donna Saucier of Covington; one granddaughter Kristy Robinson (Charlie) of Walker; two grandsons Daniel Pitfield (Sarah) of Bossier City and Leif Graves of Tempe, AZ; six great grandchildren, Bryson, Brody, Brooks, Bristol, Henry and Annie; one step daughter Melanie Kellum of Slidell; one step granddaughter Lauryn Kellum (Kris) of Slidell; three step great grandchildren, Noah, Addisyn and Luca.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlie Graves and Rosalie Graves, his sister Pauline Rahm, and his wife Mary Graves.
Funeral services were April 2, 2024, burial in Morris Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Pitfield, Daniel Pitfield, Mark Delaup, Charlie Robinson, Bryson Robinson, and Brody Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were Craig Rahm, Leif Graves and Brooks Robinson.
Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
