George A. Hammond, Jr., 71, of Tylertown, died June 6, 2024, at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1952, in Walthall County to the late George and Alma Hammond.
He worked in the logging industry for over 40 years as a loader machine operator and truck driver. He worked for Crawford Logging, T&T Logging, Givens Logging and Ard Logging Companies.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Conwell, Verb, Theo, Herbert, Louise, Georgine, Tomazine, Linda and Augus.
Survivors include two brothers, Bobby Ray Hammond and Frank Hammond; three sisters, Lillian Holmes, Alice McKelphin and Shirley Hammond.
Funeral services were June 22, 2024, at St. James UM Church, interment in the church cemetery, pastor Andre Tillman officiating.
