Clifton Gill
Oct. 24, 1959 – July 5, 2024
Clifton Louis Gill, 64, of Tylertown, died July 5, 2024, at his residence. He was born Oct. 24, 1959, in Baton Rouge.
Funeral services were July 6, 2024, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, burial in the Holmes Family Cemetery, pastor Jerron Carney officiating.
Gill enjoyed many things: hunting, fishing, trapping, but most of all he loved spending time in his field with his cows with his dogs tagging along. He would pull down in the field, park, and let his dogs out while he watched the cows.
He worked as a teamster for many years driving trucks, working pipelines, and some movies. He took his grandkids on many adventures through the woods and around the fields.
He was baptized by the late Bishop Carney and Pastor Jerron Carney in Jesus name at Woodlawn Church. He also, when able, attended Brockdale Church and thought so much of Brother Disotell. Sister Bonnie Kirkpatrick would take him to Woodlawn, Brockdale, and on occasion State Line Church.
Mr. Clifton was preceded in death by father, Thomas Louis and mother, Ilda Kathleen Gill.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Gill McCallum (Chris) and Jessica Annette Gill; grandchildren, Ashlynn Temple (Jonathan), Taylor Gautreau, Gage Willoughby, Easton McCallum, and Mason McCallum; brother Raymond Gill; sister, Pamela Dillon; mother of his daughters, Margie Gill Loup.
