Willie Ruth “Dope” Ellzey, 70, of Tylertown, died July 28, 2024, after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 23, 1953, in Walthall County to the late Shelley Sr. and Aretha Ellzey.
He worked with several skilled workers throughout his lifetime including Bytha Magee, Samuel Magee and Melvin Harrison and a construction company in Mandeville.
In 1987 he married Terry Ann.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Cher Ellzey and Kimberly Bridges; a grandson, Quincy Conerly; one brother, Shelley Ellzey “Tom”; one brother-in-law, Shanta Bridges; one daughter-in-law, MeLisa Bridges.
Survivors are his wife, Terry Ann Ellzey; children, Kathy (Shadric) Lampton, Pauline Ellzey, Lenard Bridges, Valerie Bridges, Shelby (Kimberly) Bridges; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, Ado Ellzey, Harold Ellzey and Eddie Ellzey; mother-in-law, Cindi Lane.
Funeral services were Aug. 4, 2024, at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Memorial Chapel, interment in Tylertown Cemetery.
