Terry Eugene Carney, 60, of Jayess, died Oct. 14, 2024, at his residence in Jayess. He was born Dec. 5, 1963, in Tylertown to the late Jerry Carney and Lina Sue Searcy. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his grandchild Kaylee Davis and grandmother Mattie Lee Carney.
A graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, at the Davis-Carney Family Cemetery in Jayess.
Carney was a longtime truck driver who was known by his friends as Cuz or Tyrone. He enjoyed music, singing, and doing a little jig with his grandchildren; in his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Tracey Dixon Carney; son, Cory Carney (Chelsie); daughters, Katrina Davis (Thomas) and Santana Carney; grandchildren, Trey Davis, Devin Davis (Alivia Rushing), Ian Easley (Kaytlynn Ginn), Dustin Davis, Kadance Davis, Bentley Carney, Maci Carney, and Jade Carney; great grandchild, Madlynn Easley; and sister, Emily Carney.
