Anita Jo Rester, 89 of Tylertown, died Oct. 24, 2024, at her daughters residence. She was born July 21, 1935, in Columbia to the late Wardell Roosevelt and Lovice Pearl Cox. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Thomas R Rester, Sr.; grandsons, Edward Wayne Rester, Jr. and Dylan Chimento; great grandson Dalton Ray Ferrill; daughter-in-law, Vicki Rester; five sisters and seven brothers.
Funeral services were at Capps Funeral Home Oct. 28, 2024, burial in Foxworth Cemetery in Foxworth, pastor Nathan Bryant officiating.
Mrs. Rester was a member of the Tylertown community for 21 years. She was of Pentecostal faith and did all she could to turn their house into a home.
Survivors include her sons, Edward Wayne Rester, Sr., Thomas Rester, Jr. (Lola) and Robbie Rester, Sr. (Joann); daughters, Linda Ferrill (Jack) and Bobbie Thibodeaux (Clinton); 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildrem with two due in December; four great great grandchildren with one due in December; brother, James Cox; sister, Marie Morgan.
Pallbearers were Justin Ferrill, Jack Ferrill Jr., Lance Thibodeaux., Julius Rester, Christopher Bennett, and Steven Floyd.
