Scellestine Carr, 80, of Tylertown, died Oct. 22, 2024, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Mrs. Carr was born Sept. 19, 1944, in Tylertown to Addo Smith and Jessie Rean Washington Cowart.
She moved to New Orleans and married Little J. Carr. They moved to Pontiac, MI, where she worked at Four Star Corp until it closed. She the pursued her hobbies of canning and planting flowers in her yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Little J. Carr; father, Addo Smith and Mother, Jessie Lee Carr, Hazel Gatlin, Catherine Brock and Christen Cowart.
Survivors are her two daughters, Lisa Carr of Tylertown and Sandra Marie Carr of Pontiac, MI; one son, Carlos LaJames (Teresa) Carr of Pontiac, MI; one God-daughter, Mya (Darrion) Jefferson of Tylertown; five grandchildren, Shaketta, Lanicia, Tonye, Jontae and Jaylon; seven great grandchildren, Makila, Ariana, Chase, Jearile, Alana, Miles and Yuri; one God-grandson, Kaylen; special family members, Derrick, Michael and Sarae.
Funeral services were Nov. 9, 2024, at East Sunny Hill MB in Tylertown, interment in East Sunny Hill Cemetery, Bishop Willie T, Deans officiating.
