Hattie Lee Cowart, 85, of Kokomo, died Nov. 15, 2024. She was born on Oct. 16, 1939, in Darbun to the late Bill and Annie B. Cowart.
She was a member of Bethlehem MB Church, where she served in the pastor’s aide ministry, housekeeping ministry and kitchen ministry.
She worked as a private personal care assistant for the Mills family in Brookhaven for close to 30 years. Following retirement in 2009, she enjoyed being able to go to church more and watching her favorite tv shows.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Lynn Davis; her sisters, Edna Robertson and Mattie L. Cologne; special friend, Bertha Jackson.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Mario (Trinella) Davis, Temperance (Warrick) Lee, Paris Ratcliff, Denisa (Patrick) Green, 11 great granchildren: Taelor, Tremail, Corbain, Callie, London, Blestin, Christian, Gracelynn, Kai’lonie, Brooklyn, and Brielle; special cousin, Clota Craft; two friends, Dorothy Davis and Martha Deer.
Funeral services were Nov. 24, 2024, at Bethlehem MBC, Kokomo, pastor Victor Hill officiating with interment in Bethlehem MBC Cemetery.
