Cathey T. Powell was born in Arkansas on April 10, 1970. She died Dec. 6, 2024. Mrs. Powell was a long-time resident of Columbia for 23 years at the time of her passing.
She was a homemaker. When she had free time, she enjoyed having movie mornings with her youngest two girls, grandbaby Lele, and fiancé Johnnie of 23 years with her cup of coffee or Venom energy drinks.
Cathey was the type of woman that would give her last dollar to someone in need and give them a place to stay when they have nowhere else.
Survivors are her fiancé, Johnnie of 23 years; sons Chris, Josh, and James; her daughter-in-law Kate; her daughters Kala, Sam, and Haley; her son-in-law, Stormy; sister Brenda; her brother, Sammie.
Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
