Brenda Carol Boyd Anthony, 79, of Jayess, died Jan. 5, 2025, at her residence. She was born Dec. 29, 1945, in Walthall County to the late Wood Boyd and Merle Pittman Boyd. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by the father of her children, James Dale Anthony; brother, Ronald Boyd; sister, Mary Rayborn; and brother-in-law, Marlin Rayborn.
Funeral services were Jan. 11, 2025, at Capps Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Nace officiating, burial in the Boyd Cemetery in Salem.
She was born and raised in Walthall County. She graduated from Salem where she was a member of the woman’s basketball team. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved the sunshine. Mrs. Anthony was a mother who made time to attend her son’s ball games where she would keep the score books. She was well known for her upholstery work which she did for many years in Maryland. She loved animals.
Survivors include her sons, Bryan Gabriel Anthony and Jim Woodrow Anthony; grandchildren, Bailie Anthony and Chasity Anglin (Lee); great grandchildren, Brentlee Anglin and Levi Anglin; brother, Buddy Rex Boyd (MaryAnn); sister-in-law, Ann Boyd.
Pallbearers were Mike Anthony, Mark Anthony, Lee Anglin, Kelvin Rayborn, Darren Boyd, and Jason Boyd.
Honorary pallbearers were Mitch Anthony and Robbie McCullough.
