Alfred Ball, 54, of Tylertown, died April 24, 2025, at Walthall General Hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1971, in Tylertown to Marvie Lee Ball and the late James Alton Ball Sr.
He was a member of Brandon Bay United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed rocking in his rocking chair while singing 5050 blues (a song he created). He loved to play basketball with his nephews and cousins. He also enjoyed riding around with his father.
He became ill after the passing of his father and was placed in Diversicare of Tylertown in 2008. During his 17 years there, his mother would visit him daily until she became unable to drive.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carvie Lee Ball; grandparents, Earnest and Alcidee Bullock, Alfred and Eva Jones Ball.
Survivors are his mother, Marvie Lee Ball; his sisters, Shirley (Henry Latham) and Jennette (Willie) Ezell, all of Tylertown; his brother, James (Kathy) Ball; aunt, Climmie Matthews; two nieces, Latasha (Randy) Thornton of Byram, and LaTrissa Ezell of Tylertown; five nephews, Christopher (April) Latham of Byram, Tony (Tekemia) Latham of Madison, Trevoris Holmes, James Ball and Jacody Ball of Tylertown.
Services were May 3, 2025, at Brandon Bay UM Church, pastor Andre Tillman officiating, burial in the Brandon Bay Church Cemetery.
