Ophelia “Betty” Craft, 80, Tylertown native, died July 19, 2025 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born July 10, 1945, to the late OC and Olivia Badon-Peters.
She graduated from George Washington Carver in New Orleans. She worked at Movie Star briefly and for the most part was a stay at home mom.
She was member of the St. John #2 COGIC. She married Willie Earl Craft in June 1967 and they had five children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lilean Carr, Emma Bridges, Irma Bridges and Alma Bridges; three brothers, OC Peters, Billy Peters and Thomas Peters.
Survivors are four sons, Gregory (Adline) Craft, Donald Craft, Kenneth (Felecia) Craft, all from Tylertown, Steven (Kaycie) Craft of Houston, TX; one daughter, Deidra Craft Magee (Ollie) of Tylertown; one sister, Carrie Peters of Tylertown; 10 grandchildren, Taurice Rouse, Omega Craft, Destiny Craft, Chancellor Moody, Oriana Magee, Lee Magee, Tyasia Shackelford, Kannon Moody, Steven Cain Craft and Landen Craft; seven great great grandchildren, Queen Kerry, Rhylie White, J’Nariah Craft, Zachary Coleman Jr., Zaylin Coleman, Joureny Moody and Kamren Moody.
Funeral services were July 26, 2025, at St. John COGIC, with Supt. Glenn Allen officiating, interment at West Sunny Hill Cemetery.
