Lenora Mae Cotton Knight, 74, of Franklinton, died July 31, 2025 at Riverside Medical Center. She was born in Tylertown on Dec. 2, 1950, and raised in the Thomas Community before graduating from Thomas High School.
She was retired after a career as a nurse’s aide, serving at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Franklinton for many years. Earlier in life, Lenora was a cashier at the Cornerstone Pantry store in Franklinton for several years. She attended 2nd Baptist Church in Franklinton. Lenora enjoyed going out to eat and loved visiting with her friends and family on the phone each day. She was also an avid reader.
Survivors are three sons and a daughter in law: Kenny Wayne Knight of Franklinton, William Calvin and Monica Knight of Tylertown, Danny Knight of Franklinton; daughter and son in law: Amanda K. Carrier and Craig Carrier of Loranger; grandchildren: Misti Knight, Chance Knight, Hannah and Joey Seal, Calvin Knight, Chase Knight, John Michael and Amber Knight, Harlie and Cole Williams, McKale Knight, Cash Carrier, Bailee Carrier; great-grandchildren: Zayden, Braxton, Ian, Lawson, Everleigh, J.J., Andre, Jaylen, Ruston; longtime best friend: Brenda Warren of Franklinton; sisters: Shirley (Ed) Strahan, Sue (Mike) Dillon, Brenda Gale (John) Blackwell all of Franklinton; brother: Kenny (Jo Ann) Cotton of Lake Providence, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph Cotton and Flora Mae Brumfield Cotton, sister Jackie Cotton, father of her children Wayne Knight and other family members.
Funeral services were Aug. 3, 2025, at Crain Funeral Home with Rev. Rayford Hewitt officiating, burial in the Thomas Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chance Knight, Chase Knight, John Michael Knight, Cash Carrier, Andre Warren, Mitchell Magee.
Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton was in charge of the arrangements.
