Eva Mae Bridges (formerly “Youngblood” and nicknamed “Sue”) was born March 26, 1941 to the late Verdis Magee and Mary Merlean Stewart in Tylertown.
She attended Friendship School before getting married to Doyal Youngblood, during this union eight children were born; unfortunately, one boy and two girls died at birth.
She worked on the farm picking cotton before 30 years of employment with New Orleans Furniture Factory. Eva went on to serve as a cook at Heavenly Delight Restaurant, a box maker at Bill’s Dollar Distribution, and receptionist with Walthall County. She dressed for success regardless of her occupation.
She is survived by children Larry, Daron, Richie (Chandra), Jeffrey and Sharon Youngblood, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sister Marie Sutton, many nieces, nephews, in-loves, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Mrs. Bridges will be held Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5 pm until 7 pm at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel in Tylertown. A second visitation will be held at 12 pm, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Brandon Bay United Methodist Church with funeral services to follow at 1 pm.
Pastor Andre Tillman will officiate with interment to follow in Brandon Bay United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tylertown.
