Lorene Ranceful Lewis, 84, of Tylertown, died Nov. 15, 2025, at her residence. She was born Feb. 9, 1941, in Tylertown, to James Monroe Ranceful Sr. and Renetta Ranceful.
She attended Tylertown Elementary School and graduated from J. J. Gulledge High School in 1962.
In April 1963, she married Joe Lewis and they had five children, Mitchell Lewis, Joe A. Lewis, Patrick Lewis, Lashonda Lewis, and Lashane Lewis.
She joined Tylertown First Baptist Church at an early age and over the years, became the Sunday School Secretary and an usher.
Lewis spent over 40 years in the workforce before she retired in 2012. Then she went to Sacred Hearts Senior Citizen Outreach on Fridays which she really enjoyed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Catherine Leftwich and Eddie Ruth Warren; one brother, James Ranceful; son, Mitchell Lewis.
Survivors include her aunt, Dorothy (Percy) Quinn; one sibling, Eddie Lou (Elbert) Hart; two sisters-in-love, Mamie Wagner and Emma J. Ranceful; four children, Joe A. (Stephanie), Patrick, Lashonda, and Lashane (LaTisha) Lewis; two bonus children, Ramona Williams and Ryan Warren; six grandchildren, Keibian (Jamal) Crumedy, Porshe (Tomarquis) Rencher, Malik Lewis, Deondra Lewis, Jamarcus Lewis and Cardarius Lewis; eight great-grandchildren, Jada, Au’Brey, Karter, Kyro, Tomarquis Jr. (June), Kinsley, Tatum, and Kennedi.
Visitation was Nov. 21, 2025, at Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel, with services Nov. 23, 2025, at Tylertown First Baptist Church in Tylertown, with Pastor Sherman Smith officiating. Burial was in Tylertown Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Tylertown.
