Linda Jenkins Whaley (known as Ma Lin) died Nov. 25, 2025, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1947, in Bogalusa, LA, to Talmadge Jenkins and Elouise Rester Jenkins.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jimmy, Wayne, and Galmarie Jenkins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Amos and Duette Whaley; brother-in-law, Joe Whaley.
A celebration of her memory was held at Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church Nov. 29, 2025. Bro. Trey Jenkins and Bro. Duane Ball officiated, with burial in the Whaley Family Cemetery near her home. Pallbearers were Trey Jenkins, Tyler Jenkins, Tanner Jenkins, Trevor Jenkins, Andrew Young, Liam Jenkins.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jack Whaley; daughters, Jackie (Edgar) Jenkins of Franklinton and Wendy (Michael) Young of Independence; grandchildren, Trey (Abby) Jenkins, Tyler (Malloree) Jenkins, Tanner (Kelsey) Jenkins, Trevor (Sciana) Jenkins, all of Franklinton, and Andrew (Sarah) Young, Jordan Young, Wrileigh Young, all of Independence; 10 great-grandchildren, Liam, Wyatt, Hadleigh, Jovi, Jack, Riaf, Tucker, Reid, and Emmett Jenkins, and Parker Young; brothers, Kenneth Ray Jenkins and Ricky (Brenda) Jenkins; sister Debbie (David) Williams; brothers and sister-in-laws, Adney and Carolyn Whaley, Loyd and Cherie Whaley, Don and Vicky Whaley, Tim and Angela Whaley, Raymond and Janie Whaley, Bobby and Kim Whaley.
