Myrtle Booth, 73, of McComb, died Dec. 31, 2025, in McComb. She was born Aug. 24, 1952, in New Orleans, LA, to Curley and Gladys Gardner.
She was a member of Shady Grove MB Church from a young age. Myrtle graduated from Eva Gordon High School in 1969, after graduation she attended Alcorn State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She continued her education at Southeastern Louisiana University where she received her Masters in Education.
Myrtle and her daughter, Monique Booth, opened Noah’s Ark Learning Center in 2010, and Kid’s World Boutique and Treasure by the Tracks in 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Monique Booth; brother, Curley K. Gardner, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Booth; daughter, Juan (Tyson) Taplin of Jacksonville FL; son, De’Andre (Karen) Booth of Dallas, TX; sister, Glenda Gardner of New Orleans; brother, Frederick (Bettye)Gardner of Amite, LA; special friend, Sebrena Williams; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 9, 2026, at Shady Grove MB Church, Osyka. Burial was in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
