Frances Margaret Brumfield, 92, of Denham Springs, LA, died Jan. 10, 2026, at The Crossing in Baton Rouge. She was born Jan. 21, 1933, in Castor, LA to the late Rupert “Pete” Russell and Beatrice “Bea” Martin Russell. Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Aubrey Lamar Brumfield; son, Sidney Brumfield; brother, Stanley Wayne Russell; and sister, Majorine Kirk.
Visitation was Jan. 16, 2026, at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home, Tylertown. Burial was in Tylertown Cemetery II. Hartman Hughes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
For 30 plus years Mrs. Margaret was the secretary for Tylertown Baptist Church. She truly loved her job where she was able to be a positive inspiration for numerous children and youth. She enjoyed reading and studying her bible, cooking for her family, gardening, and sewing.
Survivors include her son, David Russell Brumfield (Sue); grandchildren, Melissa Portwood (Connor), Russell Brumfield (Ashlie), and Garrett Brumfield (Maddie); great grandchildren, Adelyn Portwood, Josiah Portwood, Elias Portwood, and Ruth Brumfield; daughter-in-law, Teresa Brumfield; sister, Betty Pigott.
