Linda Loyce Slocum Sanders-Wise, age 62, of Anniston, AL, died April 21, 2026. She was born in New Orleans, LA, on May 28, 1963, to the late Walter D. Slocum, Sr. and Murthia Grant Slocum. Linda was raised in Tylertown, by her aunt and uncle, the late Wilbur and Rosie Mae Jones. She graduated from Tylertown High School in May 1981, and attended Draughon’s Business College, where she received her certificate as a typist clerk in 1982.
Linda met and married Albert Watson in 1989, from that union, she had her daughter, Chantise Robinson. In 1990, Linda relocated from Mississippi back to New Orleans. In 1995, she married Byron Sanders, Sr., and from that union, she had her son, Byron Sanders, Jr.
Linda worked as a dietitian at West Jefferson Hospital until 2005, when she relocated to Anniston, AL, and later worked at RMC. In 2006, she married Clifton Wise.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter D. Slocum, Sr. and Murthia Grant Slocum; aunt and uncle, Wilbur and Rosie Mae Jones; Marie Frazier, Pearlie Briscoe, Melvin Slocum, Anthony Slocum, Sr., Jennie Cowart, and Wilbur Jones, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Chantise Robinson (Zachary) of Stafford, VA; son, Byron Sanders, Jr. of Anniston, AL; stepchildren, Tanisha (Micah) Wilson, Murfreesboro, TN, Ashley Calvin, and Tiffany Wise, both of New Orleans, LA; grandchildren, Jazlyn Robinson, Zoey Robinson, and Zacari Robinson; step-grandchildren, Chase Wilson, Carwyn Wilson, Amyrie Saul, Marley Calvin, Ariya Calvin, and Kai Wise; siblings, Shirley Jones, Eunice Harris, Walter Slocum, Jr. (Jean), Jeanie Willis, Kenneth Slocum, Glenda Rhoden (Willie), Rhonda Slocum, Shawanda Webber, Calvin Slocum (Luciana), and Mae Helen Banks; godmother, Emma Jean Cook; god-sisters, Dorothy Slocum and Wanda McClellan.
Services for were held May 2, 2026, at St. Paul M. B. Church in Tylertown, with Pastor Isiah Jones officiatings. Burial was in the St. Paul Church Cemetery. Services were entrusted to Craft-Dillon-Ginn Funeral Chapel, Tylertown. Please share online condolences at www.craftfuneralhome.com
