Robert C. A. Brock
Dec. 25, 1940 – June 22, 2026
Robert Charles Austin Brock died June 22, 2026, in New Orleans, LA. He was the beloved husband of Mary Louise Brock for 60 years; the devoted father of Medgar Brock (Linda) from a prior marriage, Charles Raymond Brock (deceased), Demetrius Brock (Marissa), James Brock (deceased), Tenisha Brock-Jefferson (Kendrick), and Monica Brock; the cherished grandfather of Kailin Brock, Imani Brock, Jachai Lazarus, Jacqueline Brock, Charles Brock II, and Cole Brock; and he was also a loving son, “big” brother, uncle, cousin, mentor, and friend whose kindness touched countless lives. Robert Charles Austin Brock, affectionately known as “RC,” was born on Dec. 25, 1940, in New Orleans, LA, to the late O.C. Brock and Lenese Lewis Brock. He was raised in both New Orleans, LA, and Tylertown, MS, where he developed the values of faith, hard work, family, and service that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Walthall County Training School, where he developed a love of math, history, and agriculture. Throughout his career, RC worked as department manager for drugs with Schwegmann Bros.
Robert would later launch Brock Trucking as an owner-operator after teaching himself how to operate tractor-trailers, with over 40 years of service. He was known for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication with his various contract partners and fellow operators alike. At an early age, “RC” accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in Magee Creek. His faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. He truly exemplified Exodus 20:12 and always said yes to Genesis 4:9. He devoted himself to his family and community. He was a faithful member of New Israel Baptist Church, where he served on the usher board. He was also affiliated with First Thessalonians Baptist Church, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Mt. Moriah Baptist Church (MS), and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, gardening, and especially loved celebrating family birthdays and milestones. Whether offering wisdom, lending a helping hand, sharing stories, or simply bringing people together, he left an unforgettable impression on everyone he met. He will always be remembered for his smile and booming voice.
He is preceded in death by his parents, O.C. and Lenese Lewis Brock; siblings, Walter Brock, Augusta Brock, O’Neal Brock, Lee Helen Brock, and Carolyn Brock-Smith.
