Evelyn Smith Dillon, 78, of Tylertown, died at Gulfport Memorial Hospital Feb. 2, 2020, in Gulfport.
Born June 8, 1941, in Walthall County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Smith, and Floyd Smith. In 1958 she married Robert James Thompson and had four children. She moved around a bit before settling back down on her family’s property. She enjoyed singing, fishing, and praising the Lord.
Survivors are her children, Delores Smith, Eloise Thompson, and Donald Thompson; 11 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert Kent; grandson, Lee Alton Thompson; parents, Henry and Floyd Smith and 17 sisters and brothers.
A funeral service was Feb. 8, 2020, at New Testament Holiness Church of Deliverance, pastor Charles Shaffer rendering the eulogy and officiating, interment was in the Smith Family Cemetery in Tylertown.
Washington Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
